It's Energy Saving Week. What will you do?

21st - 25th October is Energy Saving Week. There are some simple, practical steps you can take to save energy and money in your home.

Caveat emptor

‘Let the buyer beware!’ With increasing noise in the press about renewable energy and the introduction of the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments fast approaching, what should you look out for when selecting a provider?

Deadline announced for RHI eligibility

The Department for Energy and Climate Change has announced a deadline for homeowners to register their microgeneration system to be eligible for Renewable Heat Incentive payments.

Yorkshire Heat Pumps in the press

The press are taking a keen interest in all things 'renewable' at the moment and Michael Wright's launch of renewable energy company, Yorkshire Heat Pumps, is featured prominently this week.

Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive payments being introduced

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is the world’s first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat. The scheme is for householders looking to replace their current heating system with a supported renewable heat technology and for householders who have installed a renewable heat technology since 15 July 2009.

Renewable Heat Premium Payment voucher value has been increased!

The money off vouchers available under the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme have been increased to £2,300 for ground source heat pumps, £2,000 for biomass boilers, £1,300 for air source heat pumps and £600 for solar thermal systems. The RHPP scheme, first launched in July 2011, is designed to encourage householders to switch to renewable heat from traditional heating systems by offering money off the cost of the equipment. The scheme is targeted at those living off the gas grid, where most money on bills and carbon can be saved.
