Non-domestic RHI extended to air-to-water heat pumps

DECC has announced this week that it will be extending the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme to cover air-to-water heat pumps. That's music to the ears of satisfied Yorkshire Heat Pumps customers and prospects alike.

Great news for clients who have recently installed air-to-water heat pumps at their premises, and an additional incentive for those considering such a system!

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC), has this week announced that it will be extending the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme to cover air-to-water heat pumps, following a sustained campaign by the heat pump industry over the past two years.

The stated tariff is 2.5p/kW hour. This means businesses will not just benefit from an energy and cost-efficient system to heat their business premises, they will receive non-domestic RHI payments for the energy they generate over a 20 year period. The RHI is calculated by metering the energy required to heat the premises x RHI tariff at 2.5p/kW hour.

If you'd like to understand if an air-to-water system is right for your business, or if an alternative renewable technology might be more suitable, you can contact us at Yorkshire Heat Pumps for a 'no obligation' initial assessment which we offer free of charge.
